I hope someone can help me out with my problem; electrical mirrors are not working. I checked out the fuses (no 24 20 amps)they were alright. so what can be the problem ? motors not working ? or is the mirror adjusting knob not working right ? how can i test whether the adjusting knob is broken or not ? any other suggestion!?!?

beforehand thanks

hi check that the connector on the switch on the center panel has not come off they can over time if not fitted right remove the ring around gear stick and lift up panel with the window switches on it and see it could be that easy

hi there, thanks for the quick reply. I recently bought the C280 and as an extra info it does have electrical folding mirror option aswell(working just fine). I have tried that aswell the mirror conenctor was first released and then connected again on the adjustable knob but mirrors still not working :(. the mirror motors are not running on either side i cant hear anything... any other suggestions ?
thanks

You have an idea where i can find the electrical schematics of the mirrors ?

Hi,
The fact that both of your mirrors are not working, it does sound like the switch could be to blame, do the mirrors heat up? If they do this would tell you that the plug was correctly seated in the mirror connector, as your car has folding mirrors each mirror will have two plugs, one for the mirror glass movement and heater the other is for the folding function and dimming glass if fitted.
If it was mine I would double check the fuse as the specific fuse for this function changed when they facelifted the 202 in 97. Though I doubt that the connectors are to blame do check them. If this all proves ok the only thing left is the switch.
Where in the UK are you? If your near southampton, I would swap your switch with one from my car to check that is your problem, be careful replacing the switch as there were at least two different styles fitted depending on whether your car is a pre or post facelift vehicle.
