Hi,
I have a 97R C200 W202, I've had it from new but hardly drove it for the past 5 years as I have been supplied with a company car. I have had very few problems with this car, and I love it. Can anyone advise me if he icons on and around the headlight switch are supposed to illuminate when the lights are turned on? It's been so long I don't remember if it supposed to and it seems a bit dark over there at night.

I would be grateful for any advice before I set about taking the trim apart to get to the unit.

Many thanks,

Neil

No. They don't. IIRC they are painted on. However, like all mercs, you do get a small headlight icon light up in you instrument cluster.

Where is this light on the cluster? I have two W202's pre-facelift 230K and a facelift C43 AMG and neither have this light unless there both blown.

The switch doesn,t illuminate though i have read somewhere early 202's may have illuminated as they utilised a W124 light switch i believe.

Thanks for pointing that out I now have a confirmed intermittent issue with my n/s headlight. I just went to the office car park to check. Andy remind me to buy you a beer you may have prevented an unfortunate happening. Fine, accident, ect. I hope it's a wiring fault and not me going nuts.

I have a pre facelift model anyway. Still has the relevant details painted on and no back lighting? Does the OP want a pic?
