W202 dead electrics

1997 C180 (not my car)- basically the car would not unlock with the fob so was manually unlocked. The key would then not turn in the ingition at all and all the electrics are dead. Not even the hazards work.

Obviously the first thought is the battery but this is 3-4 year old Bosch so I don't think its likely. Is there a common electrical drain to look for on this model?

How long was it standing without being used?

Have you checked battery terminals and earth straps are tight?

Hi only a day or two. Haven't looked at the car myself but he's calling the AA so they should eliminate anything silly. Pretty convinced its going to be a battery drain of some sort.

Dreading the day my w210 starts giving me this sort of grief!

If the car is not being driven regularly and or is used for short runs then the battery will be depleted eventually, regardless of how new the battery is.

Turned out he pressed the wrong button on the fob so the boot was left open = light on, battery drained. Dopey git
