w202 gear knob

how do i remove the gear shift knob on w202 with automatic transmission?

twist the end of the gearnob and a small part moves the bit below the leather part

twist anti clockwise

and then pull it straight up

do i have to use tools for it or just by hand? tryed by hand but i cant turn the ring below the leather part..

It doesnt need much force, it should turn quite easily, be careful

thanks got it off did a refurbish on the leather looks almost like new now )
