My 97 facelift W202 is a bit poorly at the moment.:(:(

At any time of the day when the engine is started it really struggles to fire up.

When it does happen, it refuses to rev above 2500 rpm.

When it is warm it will only rev up to about 5000 rpm but pulls quite well.

I have checked the air filter and it was surprisingly clean.

A friend of mine is bringing out a new MAF in a couple of weeks so I am hoping that will make a difference. As far as I know the car is on the original MAF and it only has 91,000 miles on the clock.

Is there anything else I need to check over?

Before you change the MAF I believe the car has to be checked with a scanning tool, to locate the problem(s?). May be something simple or complicated.
Good luck Darrell.

Hi,
If it is indeed the MAF that is at fault, you could try disconnecting it, and see if it runs any better.
