You need to get some hooks or 'keys' which allow you to remove the cluster. You could make some makeshift ones using coat hangers but I chose to get them from the dealers.
You can also push the instrument cluster out from behind if you remove the lower trim panel. It's a lot more work but it's less likely to damage the cluster. When removing the cluster from my old 202 with OEM tools a big chunk of the surround broke off!
