Engine management light came on a few weeks ago and my usual garage advised an injector was needed - changed number 4 injector and light went out for a couple of weeks when reset, then came back on. Purchased a code reader after this and it was showing a 'cylinder contribution fault' 0269. This time with injector 3. For the last couple of weeks I have erased the code and noted when the light comes back - seems to do this always on the 3rd time that the car is started after the code is erased. Bit the bullet this week and got my garage to change the number 3 injector but lo and behold the light has again come back on at 3rd start. Cleared again, and 3rd time of starting light has come back on again. Does anyone know if this is a more general fault with the injection system (low pressure or something?) or a sensor rather than the injectors. Any advice welcome!

It was a genuine Mercedes part - both have been. Also car seems to have a 'lumpy' idle now.

Had a look at this before but still none the wiser - may have to visit the local MB garage and pay some extortionate amount to put it on their machine to see if they can narrow down the fault - although hoped someone had had this one before!
