Help required please - Standard fitment radio/cd player has gone strange over recent days and has started to cut out for no apparent reason .

Symptoms are a "crackle" and then complete loss of sound from either radio or cd player for varying amounts of time, but both return after the silent period. Noticed also that illuminated display showing radio station or cd track varies in intensity from almost invisible to bright.

Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received.

Update on the above thread. Have been to the local Dealership who wants £100 for 1 hour to investigate the problem before telling me what could be wrong. I am assuming that the solution, if there is one , will cost more.
Anyone got any other thoughts suggestions please?

That sounds like a power loss problem, check the wiring.

You can pick a W203 Audio10 CD unit up on Ebay for about £30, if the problem is the set.
