Hi Russ
Thanks for that link good information there.

No warning lights coming up just slight miss on acceleration so did the check with my reader and the code came up so I will have a look round for suggestions posted in the link.

Thanks for your help Russ much appreciated.

As a general rule, if there are no other symptoms apart from the fault code, first try erasing the fault code and see if it comes back.

This is what the MB dealer did when my car had the EML light come on while still under warranty. In the 9 years I owned the car, it never came back...

Of course if the fault code won't go away you'll need to look into it.

Can Any member help with this question

Yes
Specifically it is a generic code:-
P2134 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "F" Circuit Intermittent

Check the socket at the throttle potentiometer and the wiring for failure .
The kick down switch if an auto might also be the culprit.

No more potentiometer (its two hall sensors) and separate electrical kick down switch (only dummy button) in these....

Thanks all you guys for the reply's really useful information there.

Mark I did try removing the code with my scan tool but it would not clear it so as you say it needs looking at.

Here's a tip for the later Hall effect throttle pedal controls.
Hold the engine at about 2000/2500 rpm
And then have an assistant thump the floor area near the pedal with a rubber hammer. Don't go mad whacking stuff! alright!
In many cases if the hall effect sensors are bad, the thumping will disturb the already intermittently defective sensors in the pedal and the engine will instantly cut to idle.
Wiring problem or pedal problem is revealed.

Yes but If its an intermittent fault you may not see it in live data!
Until of course you induce the fault.
