W203 Heater problem

Aux heaters are the webasto type under the offside front wing when fitted and are diesel. Sweden uses 230volt block heaters.

If the air distribution on the 203 is out of sinc,re set it

203

To reset heater flaps and actuators

Switch on ignition.

Press recirculated air and defrost buttons on control panel together for longer than 5 seconds.

The LED's in the defrost and recirculated air buttons flash alternately.

Wait until the LED's stop flashing (approx 30 sec) system set to defrost LED on.

Switch off ignition.

After 40 sec re start engine.

Thanks for this Malcolm, been wondering what was wrong with my air flow in the cabin for a week or so and this has just sorted it right out.

Owe you a pint for that!

Hello!
I have a W203 Sportcoupe C220 cdi from 2003 and my heater booster ( electric heater) is broken. I went to a tester and the error P1664- heater booster circuit open, came up and it can't be deleted.
Can anyone tell me where this Heater Booster is located so i could take this part off my car and see if it can be fixed or if I need to buy a new one.
A picture or a code for it would be very helpful because I searched the Internet for two days now and I can't find anything useful.
I would go to a Mercedes Service but it's located 150 miles away from where I live and I can reach it only on weekends when it's closed.
Thank you very much!

hello mihnea, and welcome. the heater booster on your car is probably mounted on the engine block just above the starter motor. they fail very often and are probably unrepairable - but hey, i never tried! why do you want it fixed may i ask?

Webasto jobby, this is what i fitted to mine, but was the petrol version.

Excellent, get in start car, fans on instant warmth and if car is frozen defrosts pretty damn quick, one day when i can be bothered i will wire it up to the internal fan so it defrost car for me like my pevios one did.

Think sit in the warm watching all your neighbours/workmates scraping the ice off their car then get in and try to drive off as the screen keeps refreezing!

When I bought my W203 I didnt know it had an instant heater. I was gobsmacked when I turned on my car the first cold morning and got heat before I even had reversed out the drive.
A wonderful device and I would now HATE to go without one.

Hello again!
Thanks guys for the information! I want to fixed it because winter is coming and I want the engine to warm up more quickly and automatically to warm the cabin more faster. And to be sincerely i don't like the engine sound at all when it's cold. I found the part, the preheater kit, and it's around 400 pounds.
I will try to repair if it is an electrical fault if not I will replaced. But the hard part is to remove and I didn't found any tutorial on this.
