Hi all,
2011 C250 CDI 7g-tronic, facelift.
Driving on the motorway yesterday at 70mph. Put my foot down, no acceleration.
Tried kickdown. No gear change, no acceleration.
Selected Sport mode. No gear change, no acceleration.
Selected Manual mode. Tried flipping up and down gears. No gear change, no acceleration. Gearbox would not shift out of 6th gear.
As i was putting my foot down, the engine speed would surge from 2-3000rpm. Still, no acceleration. I assume the engine was spinning the torque converter, but the power was not being transmitted through the gearbox, thus TC was slipping massively.
Even in 6th, i would still expect *some* acceleration, and no TC slip.
I found a safe place to stop, cut the engine, and restarted. It was fine after that.
Any ideas what just happened? I have a 3 month warranty and I only bought it 2 weeks ago. Should I take it back and get the codes read?
I plugged in my own ODBC reader and no fault codes were found.
Many thanks in advance.
