Hi,

I purchased my Mercedes C220 W204 last year and I notice the car goes into limp mode (no EML) when I am on the motorway, this usually happens when I am trying to pick up speed uphill or when I am going from a 50 mph to 70 mph zone. When it goes into the limp mode the car will jerk and then stay in high revs and will change gears very late.

The fault codes are:
P2112 - Throttle body jammed closed, actuator blocked
P0248 - The output for the low pressure turbo charges has a malfunction. The actuator does not close.

I took the car to an Mercedes independent and they changed the Throttle body, but the fault still occurs on the motorway.

I've looked back at the cars history and the previous owner had the EGR Air pump solenoid, Turbo boost pressure solenoid, Vacuum pipe repaired and water pump/v belts changed 8 months ago (roughly 4,000 miles ago). This was all done by a Mercedes specialist.

Any ideas what this fault could be and what needs changing?

Thanks Jimmas, I've tried to Google the wastegategate solenoid but didn't have any luck.

Could it be called something else, anybody have a picture or diagram.

Thanks

Hi Mate, google electric turbo actuator, you may have more luck with that. Hope you get the information you need.

Thanks Jimmas, that has been really helpful. I will keep you updated if I fix the problem

The mechanic did a VAC test and found that one of the Vac pipes had a blockage, basically the previous garage who replaced one of the sensor must have broken off a piece of the sensor in the vac pipe.

Glad it wasn't anything major that needed replacing, but I think I could have got away without replacing the Throttle body.

It’s done now and one less thing to worry about. Enjoy the car , I hope you have no more issues :)
