Hi, hoping someone can help. Yesterday, I installed COMAND in my w204. All working fine so far. However, on my Audio 20 unit I had DAB radio. My understanding is that this is fitted in addition to the HU. I therefore believed it would just work on the COMAND. It doesn't. I have accessed engineering menu. It shows DAB 'not installed' and if I go to the AUDIO option the FM LW etc are in black, but DAB is greyed out. I can't seem to find anyway of activating it.

Am I going to have to go to the dealer to have it SCN coded?

As an aside, before I removed Audio 20, I was trying to load a CD. It asked if I wanted to load all and then displayed 6 discs on the screen. Does that mean it's a 6 disc system? There is no external box, just the HU. I only just bought the car.

Thanks in anticipation.

Apparently latest COMMAND HU have integral 6-disc DVD changer...

Looks like that's the case then, only this is an Audio 20 unit. When I removed it there was a sticker on it saying year of manufacture 2010. So, I now have an Audio 20 with integrated 6 disc changer to sell!!!

needs data card updating and unit scn coding so it knows dab is there. also if cluster is then coded you'll get navigation instructions on the cluster.
i'd consider fitting media interface too!

You did fit the additional fan too didn't you..

Richard, the fan is on order. Inchcape didn't have it in. Apparently it's quite simple to install on RHD cars? Looks a bit tight between the centre console and steering column.

What's the data card? How is that done?

What exactly is the media interface?

The data card is the Mercedes record of what options etc etc the car has. MB central computer uses it to calculate the scn code for the control units in your car.

Media interface is the full ipod kit with full control from the screen of the comand - look at the iPod solutions section on www.comandonline.co.uk

Glad you're fitting the fan.

Richard
