My car is in the stealers having some work done, so I was forced to use the wheel barrow today.
It was raining cats and dogs, so I had the wipers on position 2 (constant slow speed wipe).
I got stuck in traffic and when my speed dropped below 5mph, the wipers stopped and went into intermittent wipe mode. When I sped up again, they started back wiping constantly. This happened everytime I slowed right down or stopped. Anyone else noticed this on their car, as I have never driven it in the rain before.
Unlike my E55, the CLK does not have rain sensing wipers.

Thats normal. My old 202 used to do it.

Its a great feature which I miss on my '84 VW Caddy.

never does mine.
it does refuses to work sometimes though when i put it on and there is no rain

Normal feature. Odly, as you will know, cars with rainsensors don't do this, so if stationary and raining sufficiently, the wipers keep going.

I'd prefer rain sensor with the intermittent when stationary feature.

my 202 (97) has this feature .. great, as it's calmer with the wiper not going nuts in front of you

my 208 has rain sensing wipers and does not have the feature (at least not while it's set on auto) .. wonder whether the feature is available when wiper is set to on instead

I'll try this when I get the monster back tomorrow.

maybe mine has got it and i do not know.
i shall check that.

B class with rain sensor had both - kind of .. a fast wipe would slow to very slow intermittent on stopping the car - but never completely stopped ! Wasn't a bad compromise. New car doesn't have rain sensor - yet, and am actually missing it, today being the first day that its rained and I've been really stuck in it ... even a variable intermittent would be a bonus - but no, nothing at all. Pretty poor really. BMW wipers were infinitely variable, including the back wiper ! (I'll get my coat !)

When I first swapped from the w202 to the Audi, I used to keep waiting for the wipers to come on when it rained!! Like holding your breath, I always managed to figure out what to do at the point of it becoming uncomfortable but not too late!
