W209 AMG Front bumper Help

Hi Guys, I have done a quick search, but I am not 100% sure what the answer is!

I am retro fitting an AMG bumper to my W209 CLK. Were the bumpers facelifted at some point? Does this mean a facelifted bumper may not fit my 2002 CLK? ALso I bought some fogs, fogs surrounds and centre grill from ebay.de but these do not fit the bumper even though the seller claimed they are for an AMG Bumper. Could this be because the bumper is a facelift one and they are not for a facelift bumper?

The part number for the bumper is: A2098854425

I wont get the fogs/grills part number until tomorrow. If anyone has any info would be greatly appreciated.

The W 209 was facelifted around 2005 and the front bumper was a major part of the facelift. The front bumpers are radically different in appearance between the 2 cars but regret I don't know any details.

I have just found out from Mercedes that I have a 2005 bumper. I am now buying all the bits I need from them at a considerably higher cost to the bits I got off ebay.de...i think they are from an earlier model so these will be up for sale soon if anyone needs them.

My bodyshop still think the bumper will fit onto my car? Has anyone ever tried this? (retrofit facelift AMG bumper onto pre-facelift non AMG CLK)

i know lower parts of a facelift W208 CLK bumper fitted to a pre-facelift CLK bumper fine. Maybe W209 is the same. If they look the same, then take the bumper off and compare before fitting.

yes you can fit the later bumpers to the earlier cars on clk 209's , i believe the earlier bumpers had an inner seperate part and the later ones have this built in.

What other parts will I need to fit to my 2003 CLK55, grills? 'skeleton'? Does anyone have part numbers?

Hi,

I am looking for a front bumper centre mesh grille (AMG) for my CLK200 (A2098850053).

I drove into a steep driveway which bent the bumper from underneath and cracked the grill.

Also - will I need to buy clips for it separately?

W209 AMG bumper

I`m looking at doing this.
It seems the facelifted bunpers are quite cheap whereas the pr-facelift seem overpriced.
If I purchased a facelifted one would I be lookng at issues with internals/mountings and connections?
Could I use all of this from my existing one?
Any help would be appreciated.
