I have a W209 CLK 320 convertible. Lovely car, but ever since I've had it I have been able to hear a metallic rattling noise at certain combinations of road surface (i.e. slightly rough tarmac) and speed (between 25 and 30 mph).
The noise if very noticeable if the above two conditions are right. It sounds just like something metallic rattling on an old tin tray and is coming from the right hand side of the engine bay, somewhere near the bulkhead.
Been back to the stealers a few times...guess what - they can't even hear it let alone fix it!
I've spent ages under the bonnet with torch tapping things and listening for loose bits and pieces but to no avail!
Anyone experienced anything similar / got any suggestions what it is? I suppose noises like this can be very difficult to sort because every car is different, but its driving us mad!
Any suggestions appreciated!
