Can anyone tell me exactly where this unit is located in a W209 CLK convertible?
My parking sensors are disabled and two separate diags checks have confirmed the same sensor as faulty, despite being changed twice.

This can only leave either a damaged cable somewhere (can't see anything), or I assume a possibly faulty control unit.

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would save me a lot of time hunting for it. :D

Parktronic fault still a mystery

OK, I finally found an article on the internet that showed the location of the control unit.

For anyone else's benefit, it is mounted to a metal panel which is under the front carpet on the passenger side. Simply pull the carpet towards you under the glove box and then there is one plastic nut in the top left, and two plastic nuts at the bottom which hold it to the floor. Undo these and pivot the panel towards you and you then have access to the PDC unit (behind another box on my car but easily accessible.

However my fault continues. Independant dealer has tested the system twice and both times reported a problem with the front nearside outer sensor. I have replaced this (and in fact the others just in case they got it wrong). Now I have changed the control unit and it is exactly the same.:wallbash:

I checked all the sensor connectors when I had the bumper off and all seemed ok.

I think it is unlikely, but does anyone know if there is a joint in the wiring between the front bumper and the control box?

There is a front bumper loom that connects to the main loom to make removing bumper simpler. I'd check the wiring from the sensor to the PTS module with a multimeter (but you'll need the circuit diagrams)

There are a lot of boxes under driver and passengers seat, but I have no idea what they do.

PDC circuit diagrams

Thanks guys.

Does anyone have circuit diagrams showing the PDC system?

hello all - my front sensor bar keeps lighting up the right all orange and one red bar when nothing is there, I changed the three right sensors and all went well for a year but now it is back again - was thinking of changing the ecu - does anyone have a photo of where it is please

Don;t do random things :-) Get it check with Star. Its perfectly possible a sensor has failed. Especially if its a clone sensor (i.e cheap eBay) - seen a load of those recently
