Gentlemen: I respect that the seat belt pre-tensioners [seat belt housings] for the CLK range of W209 configuration have no visible/physical 'hand' recognition. However I have just fitted a drivers seat belt pre-tensioner to my CLK320 [of unknown hand should it matter] and although the belt works correctly my instruments panel detects that I have a faulty SRS system.
I must confirm that this is a brand new fault it did not occur whilst the faulty pre-tensioner was inplace.
For those that do not know, the Pre-tensioner electrical circuit plug that has to be released to change Pre-tensioners is keyed so that the wrong polarity connection is not available. Also incorrect application of plug and socket is premptied for correctness due to a further cap having to be fitted lastly that anchors the plug to its socket.
Car is a W209 Coupe CLK320. Does anybody have an answer please?
