Cleaning the car the other day, found a piece of broken moulded plastic in the boot drainage channel. Turns out is was a plastic moulding, part of the Soft Top Compartment Offside Hinge. Researching on the net, one US MB forum stated that the plastic part is there to support the lid in an open position when the soft top hydraulics failed. Others have said it's a guide to locate the lid! The issue is - do I need to replace hinge (New cost £100 - Used c£60) or just ignore, as the soft top opens and closes without problem (at the moment!)?
