Hi all
My 2002 220cdi auto estate started playing up by not starting. To clarify, I put key in and dash lights up, turn to start and nothing. Turn off, turn on and away we go. Next time dash lights up, won't start. Turn off and back on and nothing. Wiggle gearlever while in park, try key again and off we go.
This is now becoming more frequent and wiggling the gear lever does not always 'cure' it. Sometimes when I turn to start I hear a click from the passenger side under the bonnet. I have no idea what that may be.
Following on from this, I joined a motorway from a slip road and floored the pedal to get up to speed with the traffic and when I eased up on the throttle the box didn't change up. Stuck in first gear and red lining!
Using the triptonic made no difference neither did switching the W/S switch. Dash just displaying that I was in drive.
Got off the motorway and got home, did not want to stop and start in case it did not start at all. When I got home, turned off then turned on again and it stated no problem, moved the triptonic and dash displayed the gear changes. drove up the road and back and auto change all ok.
Are both issues connected or do I have two problems?
Anyone had similar or got any ideas? Pleeease.
