W210 27k miles, epic rust

This car is coming up for sale at Manheim auctions. Has a warranted 27k miles from new and one owner. Yikes! How did it get in such a state?! Mercedes should hang their collective heads in shame:

For such a low mileage car its got the bodywork of a car thats done 2,700,000 miles instead!

Front wings are £100 each from ECP..and a perfect fit...I'm doing two.

If it was only what can be seen then it's a good one...but if it's underneath too...steer clear.

Low mileage is probably the cause of the corrosion. When stood still for long periods, cars start to fester.


Edit. Whether a car has low or high mileage, it shouldn't rust like that. It's nothing short of disgraceful.

Judging by the rear door stainless insert strips, it's never been washed.

When the parking brake shoes release from this it will turn to powder.

I like the way they are using the blue arrow to ensure no one misses the corrosion.

Or perhaps the arrow is highlighting the rust-free parts of the paintwork?
