Nice to hear it's turned out Ok Guys. Not the kind of repair one would wish for but should be good for a few 1000 miles now.

As a short term measure it might be worth installing a clear plastic fuel filter before the main filter so a quick visual check can be kept on any deposits, you don't want any of those particles finding their way into the pump or injectors.

If the fuel has been contaminated it may be worth investigating whether you can make an insurance claim for the pump and maybe some injectors..it might be cost effective.

Not sure about the insurance claim however, do you mean from my insurance company or the forecourt's insurance? If the later I have no hope as it was probably in Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia or Bulgaria that the contamination was picked up.

Nonetheless I shall investigate.

I meant your insurance company. Collecting contaminated fuel is an accident which you should be able to claim for.
