:bannana:

At last I have bonded with my new car. I don't think it was possible whilst the C124 was around, divided loyalties and all that. But having had it cleaned and having a nice drive out over decent roads on Saturday, and seeing it gleaming in all its glory on the drive, I (at last) feel its mine and get excited to drive it. I even offered to take the Mrs up to the supermarket (I never go to the supermarket) Sunday afternoon, just because I wanted and excuse to drive it :o.

Also, I finally got round to using the Dynamix colour to re-touch a few little worn areas on the driver bolster. Nerve wracking as the colour looked much darker than the seat in the bottle, but once on, its a perfect match. I tried to take photos, but in the end I had to do it in the garage and the light wasnt good enough. Fingers crossed it dries all ok and I didnt make a mess of otherwise very good condition seats.

Gloat over!.

Be careful in that supermarket Simon, I went to great lengths to make sure I parked in a far away corner and straddled two spaces so stupid tw*ts didn't dent the sides! Glad you are finally at one with the 55!

Indeed, and for that reason I ended up getting the Mrs to take herself to the supermarket, and did the seats instead :D!. Im always a bit worried about where I park, and alwyas prefer to park at the empty areas and walk a bit further ( I need the excercise..)

I'm glad you found a car you like and that you're really happy with it.

don't try that in Tescos at Glyne Gap - they clamp you.

The clampers jokingly call it BMW parking :)

OT alert!

How have you found using it? Good on fuel (over 22mpg is good, over 25 is brilliant)? Do you use it everyday? Any repairs you've had to carry out?

I know what you mean about bonding with a car, as good as the S class is, I'm not really attached to it, by that I mean I wouldn't be disappointed if someone hit it and killed it on the way to work. It'd save me selling it too :D

Thank goodness I am not the only ones whos paranoid about parking

I always go for the parent and child spaces as they are bigger.

I do not see why I shouldn't.

I have as much right to park there as anyone else. I feel its descrimination against people without children who have large cars to walk further. I spend money in the store like everyone else, because I dont have a child I should walk further. No chance.

Lol I do that too sometimes, I do have a child, just don't always take them with me:D

I never park in tescos. Home delivery is the way forward.

Very considerate, its people like you who make it difficult to get in and out of cars with kids - and you wonder why doors get dinged :dk:

Crammy, glad to hear you now like the car, did you shed a tear over the old CE ;)

Fuel is averaging 22 mpg overall so far, but on a good run 28 is achievable using a steady right foot and cruise control on the motorway!. Im not especially concerned about the consumption as I only use the car at weekends, and catch a train to work / rarely go out once Im home during the week.

Havent had to make any repairs, its it excellent condition, thanks to its previous owner (EDZ649), and long may that continue!

Dreading parking my new E350 when it comes. The only dings on my current car are caused by idiots opening doors into me in car parks.

My wife says I will be a nightmare when it comes to parking the new car as I am so paranoid any way and my current car is not worth anything like the new one.

I have often taken up 2 spaces but only do it if the car park is quiet and always head to the back. More than once in an otherwise quiet car park I have come back to find some idiot parked a foot from me when I have done this! I think they were trying to make a point!

Agree about the parent and child spaces. I don't have children and feel the same as others that we should be allowed to park in them as I pay my money like everyone else. I don't park in them though because most places round here fine you if they catch you doing it.

Car parking spaces in general are ridiculously small in this country. I travel to the US a lot and spaces there are massive! The John Lewis here has car parking spaces so small that even if you and everyone around you parks perfectly you can't get your door open more than about a foot! As a result I never park there.
