Just replaced the comand unit in my W210 E55 as the lcd screen had 'bled'. Selling the old one as spares or repair, everything works as it should, there are no other faults other than the lcd screen. I'm not sure if you can replace the screen or not but if you can it would be a bargain for someone, or maybe it can be used for the inner workings to replace your faulty unit.
