Yesterday when I went to start the car in the afternoon, it spluttered a bit at first and the revs were very low. I pressed the accelerator pedal a little and it cleared up.
It has happened once before and on both occasions the weather was fairly warm and the car had been sitting in the sun.
Any ideas?

It could be the start of airleaks in your fuel lines - a common issue.

There are loads of threads on it and how to fix it. Parking nose down-.hill improves matters if it, starts to become a more regular issue, but keep the battery in good conditions as it will need a lot of cranking, as it gets worse!

You can look for air in the clear fuel lines as an indication.

But do a search on here and you will find a lot of info about it

Whoops. Thought it was an E320 not a 230

Previos reply probably doesn't apply as its not a diesel! Sorry

Sticky throttle flap caused by gum in the throttle housing.

Wouldn't that affect it all the time? It is only when the car is cold and the weather is warm. It only affects the idle, not normal driving.
