W210 E300 Turbo Diesel Advice

i think its going to come down to a test drive and see how i would feel about not remapping it, i don't want a supercar so shouldn't be a problem, but the advice on here is great, something no number of test drives can equal! cheers again!

If you re-map a 300TD you will need to sort out the suspension/shocks/brakes the whole bit, it weighs a ton and once going needs a fair bit of stopping -

I am always reminded of this when approaching roundabouts in MK where I try and time my approach to keep going otherwise its on with the anchors :(

In stock form they will do 148mph (see youtube) which is plenty for me :D

Ive got a 2001 e320 cdi which i use for work and treat it pretty mean :D Beats most things on the road still which is impressive for a big car . Ive had 2 of the w210 300 td's before and they are a good car but you would be better getting the facelifted cdi ones as the old ones are getting bit ropey now

It's more than enough for me !!!

148mph would be more than enough for me also, but top speed i am not interested in, i rarely do anymore than 70mph at most, its the mid range power i am interested in, 30-70 etc, top speeds a pretty pointless measurement of performance when it comes to road cars i reckon.
I think it may have to be down to CDI or 530d, but the 300td will still get a test drive just in case, never know, it may be spot on for what i want.
