W210 E55 AMG driveshafts- Are they shared with any other model?

As title really.

Managed to snap a driveshaft on our W210 E55 AMG Turbo, and obviously need another ASAP.

Most the ones for sale just state 'All' W210s or so on, none specifically E55.

Are W210 driveshafts really all the same, and if not, any ideas which ones are shared with E55s?

Unlikely E55 driveshafts are only used on E55s to be honest.

Cheers in advance :)

Need the Vin to be sure but E55 shafts are shared with lots of other models including 129 and 124 but depends on model year amongst other variables.

It's a 1998, but not got the VIN to hand until Monday. Once I got that, where can I check with that?

What variables? So does it share it with other W210s, or?

It's a 25 spline shaft.

Thanks

what turbo conversion did you use and what's the figures?:D

From memory the drive shafts on a 210 55 are different something to do with how many bolts are on the flange. I don't even think the 430 ones are compatible.
I will try looking on the EPC for you.
Can you put up the first six digits of your Vin WDB 210???

Our own, and it's not fully tuned yet, but we're hoping/expecting to be at least as good as the Kleeman supercharger figures, if not a lot better, but without the huge pricetag. Will soon see.

Will do so Monday once back to the car, thanks :)

Hi there, got the VIN for you!

If you can tell us a part number, and HOPEFULLY what other vehicles that part number is used on, we will be back in business again.

TBH, the ease this shaft snapped, I suspect we may need more soon lol.

Maybe I'm wrong, but searching seems to say it uses part number-
2103503162

Which only seems to be mentioned in E55s.

VIN posted in my post above Druk, so please advise ref W124 and W129 shafts.

Thanks

I've not heard of any amg cars snapping driveshafts. Have you had them out at all or changed them or anything?

Jay- Does the lovely box have the part number I mentioned on it?

No, never.

Ours is turbocharged though...

Based on the Vin WDB21000742A921096 the part number would appear to be#A210 350 09 56

Doing a part search reveals this part is also fitted to...

R129 SL280 and SL320
E270CDi and E320CDi
E430

The 124 reference was based on a different part search.

This is a screenshot of all the relevant model variants. Quite why it comes out fuzzy I don't know. Someone might explain that and I'd be a happy bunny.

Brilliant stuff, thanks Druk! That should make it a lot easier to find.

Bought a W210 E430 shaft- Doesn't fit.

It's 27 spline, the E55 one is 25 spline. This was supposedly the correct part number given above according to the advert.

Does the shaft have a number stamped on it ?

A 210 350 31 62 is not a drive shaft, but the main rear diff housing for an E55.
I have looked and as DRUK has posted the pt. no. A 210 350 09 56 is the shaft required for your vin number according to the MB EPC.
A 210 350 09 56 in the EPC is described as AXLE SHAFT, and underneath this text it has written "RG 107 - 25", This I'm thinking is some sort of dimensions and the 25 is possibly referring to the amount of splines.
I can also confirm doing a pt. search this same shaft is fitted to:
SL 280 - 129059 - Any SL 280 with these first six digits to its Vin no.
SL 280 - 129058 - Depends on exact Chassis no.
SL 320 - 129063 - Depends on exact Chassis no.
SL 320 - 129064 - Any SL 320 with these first six digits to its Vin no.
E270CDI - 210016 - Depends on exact Chassis no.
E430 - 210070 - Depends on exact Chassis No.
E320CDI - 210026 - Depends on exact Chassis No.

No, can't spot any numbers on any of the shafts. Presume it was a sticker originally.

Pretty annoying not being able to carry on testing the car, so need a shaft.

This one on eBay is a R129 SL320 one, mentioned earlier as the same, but part number is totally different.

18457 Mercedes SL320 R129 SL 1997 Rear Left Drive Shaft N s 1293506010 | eBay

Hmm

The pt. no. in the auction above though different to your one was superseded by your pt. no. so yes the one in that auction according to the EPC will/should fit your car.

I've bought it now Andy, so lets hope all this great info is correct!

Thankyou, much appreciated!
