Hi peeps, as title suggests ... having done zero research on the subject i do not know if Mercedes have ever fitted heated seats in the rear of a w210.
That said .. does anyone know if MB ever did fit them to a w210 and has anyone retro fitted them and the $64,000,000 question.. how difficult was it to fit electrics wise? ie: would the associated wiring etc: be already genericly fitted and just need switches etc: plugging in?
(i should be so lucky eh!) any help would be appreciated muchly :thumb:

Thanks for the link but would also like to hear from someone who has actually done the w210 conversion so can give me a blow by blow 'how to' from start to finish.

Interesting. I've not heard of this ever being an option fitted by MB on the 210. I imagine there was therefore quite a bit of work to route wires, etc...

I have this fitted to one of mine, which I will be breaking! I had never seen it before!

Quite common on the high end W210s.

I have a complete W210 E50 AMG black/blue leather interior with heated rears going for £100.

Bargain for someone! Mine are black, were they hard to get out, ill probably sell them too

I've never seen this before, didn't think it was an option on Uk cars. PhilJ you got them up for sale anywhere?

Have seen this option only a very rare handfull of times, It was available but rare. You could retrofit is fairly easily if you cluld get the loom, switchgear and elements. The fusebox is under the rear bench anyways so I imagaine not much wiring to run !

I have seen a few rear seat sets advertised on the bay so no worries locating the rear bench and rear door cards, just need to know if my 51 plate e240 w210 elegance has the associated wiring already in situ ready for the heated rears to be plugged in (plug 'n' play) so to speak before I start taking the rear of the interior apart.
Don't really want to get into that unless I know for certain it's do-able without any wire chopping / splicing etc:
That's why I'm hoping someone on here has done it before and can advise on the conversion, if it's a case of it being model specific wiring only i'll forget about doing it, i hate chopping into factory wiring, (plug 'n' play all the way):D.
Anyone?

The loom will not be already in place, you will have to buy it and fit it in yourself. Don't be scared though I have retrofitted a few wiring harness's and provided your competent with wiring and removing and re fitting trim its all plug and play anyways. There's no splicing as the harness's are made with all the correct plugs and connections pre terminated. Also the fuse box is under the seat anyways so you wont have to go far.

Just what I wanted to hear, no problems with the tech 'n' mech side of things, just wanted to know exactly what was involved before I start the project, if it's all pretty much plug 'n' play I think i'll go ahead with it.
Just got to source all the parts now. Many thanks for the info.
I'll do a write up as soon as it's done if anyone's interested. :thumb:
