W210 Heater Fan

Hello folks, the interior fan in our e class has started to squeak when going round a right hand bend, I guess things get worn out. Is it a dash out job to change this or have mercedes actually thought about this instead?

I would have thought is like the 124s.If it is,no dash out,it can all be done under the bonnet

thanks so much, having just had the fun of changing the heater matrix on our Discovery 1 I was steeling myself for another onslaught with interior trim. Cheers.

Hi

Access the the fan in a 210 is simple enough.

It is located in the passenger foot well beside the pollen filter and is a 20 min job to remove.

As 230K says it's relatively easy to access in the front passenger footwell - I managed OK - you'll just get a bit of neck ache trying to twist around and see what you're doing!
