Im after either springs, springs and shocks, or adjustable coilovers. Id like to lower my '97 E200 by about 60mm, but any amount is a start if the price is right..

You'll need springs and shocks (not coil overs), and the camber will need adjusting afterwards.

Hi, I have a new set of rare Lorinser coils for sale on eBay at the moment,
Mercedes e-class W210 LORINSER Lowering springs very rare! Cost around £350 new | eBay
They lower by about 35 mm. However, I have an identical set on my E430T and I cut 1 loop off the fronts, it sits nice and low now! I have No.5 top rubbers at the moment, but have some No.2's to throw in. Will be very low then, but may need some smaller shocks. They give a firm but comfortable ride. Happy to sell these for £120 inc postage.

I also have (not currently on eBay, but can put them on if required) a set of used H&R lowering springs. Want £90 inc postage for these, they are £170 new. Pic below. Cheers.

They look good, how stiff are they compared to the standard springs?

I have seen kits on ebay.. how do they work? surely you just remove the spring and change the shock to one with a spring around it?

They advertise "coilovers" for the 210 on Ebay...yes...but they will send you a separate spring and shock.

Also worth considering that the standard shock absorber mountings might not be designed to take the forces of a compressed coil spring as well.

One thing you need to check very carefully in any case is for rust around the welds for the front spring perches. W210s are known for this issue, especially the early ones - so if you're looking to modify the suspension you need to make sure this is 100% sound or get them replaced first.

The rear camber cannot be adjusted as the link arms are fixed. You will need to purchase aftermarket links with adjustment to set the camber once it has been lowered.

You can tell they are different. The car feels more solid on the road. They are comfortable though, although you do feel the pot holes quite a bit more...

ah i missed them, did they sell??

Yes, the Lorinsers are sold and picked up, however I have now listed the H&R springs on eBay. I can't link directly here at work, but they are item number 221170321558 - just copy and paste that number into eBay search.

Why not got air bags ????
