W210 E320 CDI
I've a late model W210 E320 CDI, and recently, there have been occasions where it won't kick-down or rev above 3000 rpm when I push down on the accelerator. Other times it behaves normally.

I *think* this might be the AMS (MAF). Can anyone confirm this is likely to be the case?

If so, please could you point me to good place to get this fixed in Sheffield area that might be able to confirm for sure and do the necessary without killing me on the labour or parts prices?

Thanks
Dave

Dave,
I had exactly the same problem with my E320cdi,have a word with either Steve or Tony at Europa near the Midland Station,I can definately recommend them.
I had a broken linkage on a valve in the inlet manifold which was also gummed up.

I had the problem with no kick down and that was the throttle switch, I also had a failed MAF and the symptoms I got was a lack of power as if the turbo had failed, neither of thesep roblems cost more than 15O to fix!

Hi,

Just had the same problem no power was perfect 6 hours ago no problem but on the way home it started to get very slugish albeit everything appeared to work ok except for the kick down and it wouldn't rev over 3000 rpm, and the problem was the vacum pipe had come off of the small diaphragm valve that sits on top of the air inlet

hope that helps

Brian
