W211 320 CDI Remap - (204hp)

Because it was raining outside, and tyres were wet my car kept wheel spinning on the rollers for a few runs until they dried up. Once dried up, was funny it kept moving forward trying to come off the Dyno rollers. I personally think its a legitimate figure.

if you think your senna then yes!

Indeed! But if you were driving at say 80 on the motorway does the mpg figure change from before? Thinking of getting mine done but not if my mpg goes through the floor

if i drive in the law;) i get at least 4mpg better than driving briskly.

duh don't make sense...

you should see 3-5mpg better than standard.

I had the Brabus D6S box fitted to my E350 265 upping it to 313. I recorded the consumption on fuelly for 8k miles before fitting. It's early days, but I would say that since fitting, consumption has dropped by a couple of mpg, and average speed is up about 3mph more (according to obc). It's not worth upping the torque or power if you don't use it, and if you do use it then it will affect consumption negatively but not disastrously. If I drive at a steady 70 then the consumption is roughly the same as it was before, but don't get fooled into thinking that a remap will actually deliver better consumption. Maybe it could, but in the real world you'll squeeze the accelerator a bit more occasionally and use the power and that burns more juice.

Hi, newby to the w211 320 cdi..... I bought my 2003 model just couple of months ago and looked at remapping, Celtic tuning seemed to offer a stage one map upping my 204-264/5 and lbs/torque to 419 I think it was ?? For £295 all inc and they come to your address ? Seemed Very polite and professional but I was very optimistic at such a power increase ??

Holy thread resurrection lol, I had my old s211 I6 cdi mapped, Along with a less restrictive exhaust and larger cooler, 15.2 second quarter power wise i reckon it was around 275hp, My friends s211 300hp v6 cdi did a 14.5. 1/4 mile.

Mine was done by chip tuners Ipswich, Acid at MSL did my mates car.

I can find the email conversation and copy/ paste it to show you lol ?
But yes your reply is kinda what my thoughts were lol

The Mercedes Benz E Class (W211) 2002-2008 takes the power from 204bhp up to 265bhp and the torque from 369lb/ft up to 418lb/ft. This stage of software is designed as a software upgrade only meaning it is all within safe tolerances of the engine and drivetrain and requires no hardware modifications. With our diesel upgrades you can expect to see upwards of 10% fuel saving dependent on driving style. For testimonials of our work please follow the link: View Testimonials. ??

"Custom Map" = generic map tweaked for the individual car. Does anybody really imagine that the tuner rewrites a complete map? I suspect most just tweak the existing map, which is actually a genuine 'custom map' for that model of car with that engine.

Have more performance = use more performance = use more fuel; and you will. Simples.

Tuners all claim fuel economy improvements, but I'd bet very few people actually achieve any.

Yea defo agree on driving style but tbh since I’ve bought this merc my right foot has somehow eased off, suppose because it’s so smooth to drive but, it would just be nice to have that extra bhp for blip now and then..... but again, is an extra 60 bhp really possible ??

Thinking of having our e320 CDI remapped. What should I expect to pay and would it be wise on a 200k plus car?

You need to contact local re-mappers to you as it varies (£300-£600) and is it wise on a 200K miles car, dunno how has it be driven and serviced during its lifetime?

Reading through its history it's been serviced regular and and seemingly looked after. I have only had the car just over a year and 3 months. The car pulls really well it seems and drives beautifully. The gains with bhp and torque with this stage one map seem very impressive. I don't want to spend silly money £300 quid mark would be ok.

Then go for it. I did on my 320cls and haven't looked back (too busy going forward with a big smile)
