My E270 cdi 2003 has battery drain if i left 24 h without moving. When i jump start and measure voltage in battery it reads 13.4v .i think the alternator is fine.No warning in dash.

Do all your window/mirror and seat switches work properly?

I had a drain and found I had a faulty door controller (all door/window/seats/speakers connect here). 2nd hand one from the bay of fleas for £10 and my drain stopped.

You may have to test the fuses with an inline fuse tester in the dashboard, engine compartment and boot to isolate which module is causing the drain.
It can be hard to pin down.

All works fine .One mechanic told me that is BCM fault. All model of this year have this defect. What does BCM ??? If i disconnect it what happens ??? Thanks

BCM is the battery control module which is in the boot and naturally connected to the battery. Its a small rectangular box to the left of the battery.
Bit of a sweeping statement by the mechanic to say all models of that year have the BCM fault.

Not clued up on electrickey to know what would happen, but I'd find an auto electrician to test whether it is faulty before disconnecting.

The only way to find a drain is to isolate the circuits. I'd disagree that bcm's are a common cause for drains

Thanks for the answer but does happens anything if i disconnect it??

Have you got the MB Bluetooth adaptor? Once or twice mine has got confused and hasn't shut down properly even though the car's been locked and alarmed.

Start pulling fuses. That's the only sure method IMHO. A defective control module that won't go to sleep cannot write a fault code (because it is defective) into the fault memory and you will never find out which one it is therefore by using SD.

Common problem is the seat heating control unit if the drain plug is missing or not properly sealing and water entering under the driver seat (not sure if a UK model has the module under the right seat or under the left seat like on left hand driver cars).

No it doesn't have bluetooth adapter. Thanks bro

When use every day there is no problem but when i leave 2 day without use the battery drains .thanks bro

I have this problem, just started. I stupidly bought a new battery without first checking for a drain! Now I've got a nice new battery, after two days too flat to even unlock the doors (unless the battery or installation are faulty!

Me too bought new battery w/o find a problem.i thought that was old battery and replaced 200$ wasted.same prob.

Pull fuses if you have no other way of checking which control unit is the culprit. We can all talk about the same issue all day long but if one is not willed to take action, the best solution won't help. And be prepared that it might take a few weeks. Depending on your SA list, you might have 65+ control units on board of your computer on 4 wheels.

It is a small quantity voltage of leaking , because it needs 2 days drop .

If your battery is flat in 2 days you have a large current drain.

As advised, get a fuse tester and start pulling the fuses until you find the drain.

Turn on the ignition, pull the fuse and push in the fuse tester and see what drain shows. Up to a total of 65ma is deemed acceptable.
I have a copy of all the fuse locations for a W211 and their significance if you PM me I can email them to you.

Sorry that I'm a bit late coming to this discussion.

May I ask why the ignition should be on when testing for the drain? I would have thought that it should be off.

Have you guys found the cause of the fault?

WIS has an excellent paper about finding drains quickly and efficiently.

Who or what is Wise? :o
