W211 E220, 270, or 320. Wanted or cheapish E55

As you can probably tell im looking for something economic compared to what i am currently driving to give me a chance to save up for the car im after. I am looking at getting a E220 270 or 320 deisel and then hopefully about march time getting a E55 AMG. You can see my cars that i have that i could PX/Swap for one. I am looking for as many options as possibel but am not too bothered about millage within reason.

The main thing is it has full leather, cant see why anybody with this kind of car would get one with full leather.

If you have a E55 AMG and take a fancy to something Jap then also would like to hear from you. In this case i would be looking for just about all the features you can get.

Hope to hear soon and take the leap to becoming a MB owner.

Go for the E320 CDi.

Loads of torque yet 40mpg on a run, what's not to like?

I doubt your budget will get you a E55... and your insurance would I think take most of the budget. W210 yes but not the W211

Maybe worth getting some quotes for the cars, not sure how they vary from 220 / 270 or 320 I doubt theres much in it?

Have to agree the 320cdi is pretty hard to beat as an all rounder (performance and economy)

Being 20 would you not prefer the C class, maybe more around for your budget? and slighly smaller / sporty? or even the SLK or C class coupe?

That isn't too bad actually.

I can remember quotes in that ball park at 24 for an M3 Evo and 29 for an Alpina B10 V8.

It isn't until you become a really old fart that your insurance drops so that the E55K is pretty much like any other.

Autotrader is your friend, go for the 270cdi, best blend of economy and performance and most will have full leather. Make sure you like the way it drives, it will be very very different to your current cars. £6000 ought to buy you something nice.

Have you considered a W211 E500, I am selling mine at the moment, its not much over your current diesel budget and as it has the AMG Body styling and wheels.

Performance wise is more than in enough in everyday use.

Spec wise it has almost everything and on a par or better than most E55's, including Keyless Go, Pano Roof, HK Sound system etc.
