Hi,

Can anyone give me an idea into the annual costs for the above car? I've got a W220 CDI now and as I do higher than normal miles I allow for 12p per mile plus around £4k, servicing £97+VAT PCM (20k PA basis) and at an average of 28mpg, around 15p a mile for diesel so 20,000 miles costs:

£4,000 + £2400 Depreciation
£1370 Servicing
£3000 Diesel

£10,770 + Insurance

Just want to get a similar poicture for the E220 CDI as I'm thinking of getting one to reduce the miles on the S Class.

Many thanks,

Mark

E220 CDI costs.

I have just run a 2005 E220 for 18,000 miles over 11 months.

The car was bought with a few thousand on the clock and sold with 22K and one service later costing £3.5k in depriciation.
Service costs were confined to that one service at £450 and insurance of £400.
Fuel consumption at 44mpg meant I spent £1650 on diesel.
Total £6000
That's 30p/mile. About half of what the 'book' says for a new car.
Buy a lightly used one at the right price, sell at the right time, and you can 'beat the system'
Mercedes direct website is worth watching as some cars seem to come up that are really underpriced for year/spec/milage, and that's how I have kept the costs down
The 4-pot wood burner is not the most refined in the world, but out on the open road you would be hard pressed to tell. That was the only downside I can see compared to the S class.
