Some bad news with my car (W211 E55) but lucky I managed to catch it early. After doing some work to the car over the weekend I noticed some grease in the O/S/R area. Further inspection showed a small split in the inner CV boot.
So I thought nothing major... A quick telephone call to Olly's should sort this out. However, once Olly had a chat with the dealers we were surprised that Mercedes do not sell the inner CV boot as a kit (Not available in the EPC).
So I am stuck with a few options:
1 - Universal CV boot.
2 - The parts guy mentioned to Olly that there were 2 CV boot kits but not 100% for my car.
3 - 2nd hand driveshaft.
4 - New driveshaft at approx. £750
The driveshaft is fine, no noises and is solid.
Anyone been in a similar situation where the dealer cannot offer the required CV boot? If so, what course of action did you take?
