Hi all, I have a 2008 W211 avantgarde estate, known as the S211 by MB I believe. I'm looking for genuine Mercedes front and rear mudflaps and all fitting clips. Also looking for decent roof bars to fit the factory fit roof rails, would prefer genuine Mercedes but would consider quality aftermarket brands such as Thule. I'm happy to consider used parts as longs as they're in reasonable nick.

If any kind souls can't help, but can point me in the direction of any reputable companies that can do a good deal on the above please feel free do do so. Fairly new to the site so I'm not sure if PMs come directly to my email account, so if PM-ing me post a reply telling me you're doing so!

Funny you should list them, I was on that website earlier today.

I've viewed the bars for the estate on ebay recently and the fittings appear to be completely different as the estates have roof rails built in and the saloons gutters (as I'm sure you knew), I wouldn't want to take the chance but might email the seller in case they know better.

I got genuine used MB Aero bars for mine on Ebay for £25. There was no key, but I could dismantle them and get a key cut.

You did well getting them for £25, I was bidding on the same on ebay a few weeks back and they sold for around 3 times that in the end (the same price as you can get brand new 'thule' bars for on ebay), and the genuine MB ones don't come up for sale 2nd hand that often, I'm sure they're £150+ brand new from MB which I can't bring myself to pay.

I am already 'watching' the ebay item you've listed, the rails I bid on previously started off around this price then on the last day quickly shot up past the limit I'd set myself!

I was lucky a few months back on ebay, picked up a genuine set of bars and 2 cycle carriers for £25 :bannana:

The ad stated collection only, but managed to arrange for the seller to wrap them up for my courier to collect. the packaging was better than some so called packaging companies

Well, got fed up with people getting carried away with bidding on ebay, every set of bars seemed to go for at least £70 plus p&p, so a google search unearthed towequipe, who are doing a set of montblanc bars (brand new of course) for £50 inc insured courier delivery, a great deal IMO, should be here in a few days.

Now to find those mudflaps, should prob try MB delaer themselves first to see how much they are..

The genuine mud flaps are quite reasonably priced but gosh... It would mean going to main dealer :D

I am sure you know the Avantgarde flaps are different from the Classic or Elegance?

Get the mudflaps from a main dealer. Really not that expensive and Glojo is quite right: for versions with body styling like the Avantgarde they are model specific.

Above and beyond that, although the front flaps for a given varient will fit saloon or estate models, the rear flaps will not.

As for the roofbars, I have found Thule Aerobars excellent

The car is due in for its 1st service in a few weeks anyway so I'm going to get a price for mudflaps from MB dealer direct, I've quickly found out that ebay is often more expensive than buying elsewhere. I've heard they are £70 per set so the £39.99 for fronts only on ebay look very overpriced!

I did know that the estate avantgarde rear mudflaps were different, I thought I'd found a set on euromerc but Nick kindly emailed me to point out they wouldn't fit.

How did that price compare to main dealer prices please
