I'm hopefully about to move from my rusty old 210 estate to a newer W211 Avantgarde.

The car that I'm hoping to get has got a crack running across the piece of wood trim that covers the little cubby hole in-front of the centre arm-rest / glove box.

Talking of the centre split rest, the car has a nasty scuff in the leather? on the passenger side of the split opening. Is it possible to get replacements, etc...?

Can anyone advice me where I might get a replacements and any idea of price? If I can't find an alternative, I'll venture into a MB dealership, but would hope to find somewhere that might be able to help without wallet rape!

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Ring mercedes as not that bad for complete rear ashtray for mine as the soft open was broken and even though I don't smoke I couldn't have it not working correctly. £20 was the damage and that has fake leather front.

Well, visited my local MB dealership today - the cost for the lid of the cubby hole in front of the centre armrest was quoted at............. circa £150! :yikes:

The mechanic was also confused by the colour of the wood trim in my car, as being an Avantgarde, it should be the dark birds eye maple, but it seems quite pale and light. He wondered if a previous owner had replaced it with something else, although, if the have, he doesn't know with what. So, it's a bit of a mystery!

Try putting your vin into Russian site carinfo and it will give you all the spec of your car and what colour your trim is.

How about getting the cover retrimmed? Could be a bit cheaper than a new lid.

Not wanting to sound thick, but what do you mean? Getting new wood put on? I think, from what the mechanic was saying, that the rack is in the liqueur, rather than the wood. Is there anyone that could strip and re-lacquer it?
