As above.

Had some bedroom furniture delivered and left with several large boxes to take to the tip.

Despite my car being a saloon the rear seat bases flip up to allow the backs to fold flat which allows a really long and flat load length.

How cool is that?

Somewhere new to kip if the Mrs locks me out again. (Accidentally/heavy sleeper she claims).

If you have memory seats on the W211 estate when you drop the rear seat backs the front seats move forward to allow the seat bases to flip up.

W211's are mega. I love 'em.

Mine had those folding seats - optional I think. Miss them on the CLS - they were proper useful. Had a long slow journey home after buying an Xmas tree - had to leave it hanging out the boot - the W211 would have eaten it all with the rear seats down!

Very useful option. Front passenger seat should also fold flat giving incredible space length-wise. Take care when folding the rear seats not to damage the rear seat belt buckles, they can easily get trapped and break.

Oops - one of mine was broken - I blamed the kids and had a moan about the need for them to be more careful in Dad's car as only they used the back seats!!! On reflection it may well have been me then.....;)

I think folding rear seats was a £150 option, sadly mine doesn't have it and it is a pain from time to time.

I don't know if the saloon is the same, but on my estate, the seat bases not only fold up, but remove completely for about 4" more load length. There's a squeezy handle that detaches them from the hinge.
