A silly question, but why do some have a split arm ret and some don't? Is it anything to do with phone pre-wiring? Thanks

Cars with phone wiring have the split armrest. There may be cars in certain markets that differ from this.

If you want the centre console phone parts to fit perfectly, you need the split armrest - the tray is shaped very differently - unlike most of the other models -

On later cars , the phone cradle is located in the centre consul and the arm rest dose not split.
