Whatever I can borrow for now
Hi all

I have noticed my E Class Avantgarde appears to have a smashed near side front Foglamp Glass, the unit itself looks OK. Despite poking around with a torch inside the wheel arch and under the bonnet like a pokey mad thing, I cant seem to find out how to get to it :)

Could someone possibly kindly give me some clues as to:

1/ - How to get to the fog lamp - is it perchance reached from underneath maybe?
2/ - Is it possible to just replace the Glass lens (£10) instead of the whole unit (£100) i.e they are not permanently bonded togetheras one unit?
3/ - Are the Elegance & Classic foglamps / Lenses the same as the Avantgarde as there appears to be two different part numbers I discovered on the net?

Many TIA

Hi mate

My friend the same car as you and broke his fog lamp on his car.
He managed to buy the glass on its own. So when you go to the dealer as them for a glass and not a complete unit. :D

The EPC shows that the fog light is bolted down on to the bumper with 8mm bolts.

The lenses are available separately under the following codes

Left fog light diffuser lens A211 826 01 90

Right fog light diffuser lens A211 826 02 90

They lenses are priced at around £8.97 but this is based on the 2005 price.

Hope that this helps.

Yes plus £60 to fit at the stealers.

Many thanks for you help and information guys :) Its good just the lens can be replaced, so I'll have a grub around under the front valance and have a go myself I think.

There is another thread on this forum somewhere that discusses the exact steps to complete the job.

It isn't too difficult if you raise the front of the car. Almost impossible if you don't.
