Hi all,
Ive got a prob with my drivers keyless handle, wondered if anyone had any ideas?

After a 3 hour drive, went to lock the car using the drivers handle- nothing
then locked the car using the rear handle no probs.

the drivers handle wont even open, no messages like "key not present etc etc"

any ideas? im thinking maybe connector on handle come loose as its not recognising anything on the handle? as it works on all the other handles

worst case handle or sensor?

also will star point me in the right direction?

thnks

I had this problem on mine, it cleared up for a while, from what I remember this is a common fault.

I would suspect the button in the handle has failed.

It can be easily checked on a star machine via actual values

had it on star yesterday, nothing! actual values just give you a manual test to do

surly if the button had failed it would still say key not detected on the cluster when the handle was pulled?

im getting nothing at all!

any more ideas?

i`ll try pullung the handle off at the weekend to see if the connector is dodgy.

I am sure there is a test that you can do with the Star

Alps,

Hope you are well!

Had the same problem on my car a few months after I brought it. Changed the keyless go sensor and all problems solved.

Im also sure there is a test you can do on the star to. You can check with actual values and then trouble shoot it that way.

If the button has gone you will not get any messages like key not recognised as it is not sending a signal to the keyless go system, and you only get that message when there is a problem with the key or the wrong key present.

But as the key will start the car etc there is not a problem with the key it must be in the handle itself

thanks guys, i`ll pull the handle off over the weekend just to make sure it isnt a crimped wire on the plug (wishfull thinking) otherwise a new handle it is.

ok, had it on STAR last week, and found the test, showing no signal on any buttons, pulled the handle off and found the plug connector wire shielding looked a little stretched, couldnt be ****d to mess about with it althought it could be fixed im sure. bought a brand new one off german ebay, same color for £40, a little alteration (RHD, LHD thing) and its all sorted now, thanks guys for all the input!
