That's a W212. OP has a W211, so needs NTG2.5 not NTG4/4.5

I upgraded my Audio 20 to NTG4 myself for £540, still needs coding so it shows in the cluster but all works lovely - Linguatronic works great too, well pleased

I take it you didn't add the additional cooling fan system? Mercedes wouldn't be spending £££ adding it if it didn't have some impact on warranty costs for overheated units !!

But, yes W212 NTG4 is great. And if you get the latest firmware etc on it it does 7 digit post-code and BT Audio streaming. (But OP has W211 ...)

Friend of mine is going HERE on Monday to have his W212 updated from basic Audio to Comand. So far they talk the talk and seem to know what they are on about so let's see how he gets on

Please make sure (for long term reliability) that (when installing NTG4/4.5 - not needed for 2.5) the extra fan subsystem is installed, otherwise units get too hot. Also if you want MB to be able to service/update unit then you'll need to ensure they update the Datacard (data record at Mercedes) and of course you want the unit updated to latest firmware and maps, and the instrument cluster coded to enable NAV menu and the time sync from the GPS.

Thanks for the advice, I will pass it on to the owner. He did consider coming to you as a first choice but you were just a bit too far and it wouldn't have worked for him. How much do you charge for a Datacard update? Does the car need to be with you? I know he is possibly thinking of rear camera too.

Can the cluster be done offline via developer mode or does it require online coding? I'm not sure tbh if it has been done or not

Thanks Richard for link. Thinking about a 2.5 in my w211 e55. Just weighing costs up now
