Is 40,000 miles the correct interval for fuel filter changes on this engine?

Its 4 years or 48000 on the blue efficiency models.

A pricey item here in Ireland too, €100 + 23.5% vat.! Thankfully they're changed at long intervals.

Just had an S class serviced at work and they sent 2 types of filter as they weren't sure which would fit. Guess who got the spare one which fits perfect

You lucky boy, thats a nice saving..

Ive a few jobs to do on mine. Transmission oil and filter tomorrow very reasonable at my trusted MB specialist.
I'm thinking of doing a fuel system clean (as recommended by my local MB main dealer). They say the lads in the workshop use it all the time (BG 244K .. Add to a full tank and away you go) Any thoughts? They rated it higher than Dipetane etc. I'll run it through, then fit a new fuel filter.

Jump in with any advice or thoughts gents.
