W212 E63 AMG Estate spotted

Spied during overnight testing in Germany is this, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG wagon. Caught almost completely unmasked, the AMG model is getting ever-closer to its debut in Frankfurt.

What we can see is that the front fascia remains untouched from the E 63 AMG sedan, including the split lighting, front lip, and LEDs. At the back, we see larger rear light clusters, including many LEDs, and a hatch. There may be a new rear bumper as well, but the quad exhaust tells the AMG heritage.

The wagon is expected to get the 6.3-liter (6208cc) V8 engine from AMG. This engine currently produces 518 horsepower, and up to 630 Nm of torque. However, this could be bumped up by 25 hp. There is also rumor of a 600 hp new 6.4 to 6.9 liter engine from AMG on the way.

This new Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG wagon is expected to be introduced in two and a half weeks at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

AMG had better start re-thinking its pompous priorities as large petrol-engined cars are dropping off a cliff in the sales charts. Even BMW are saying it is questioning whether it is worth going on making V8s. And in October you will see the 500 dropped from at least one Mercedes model. And quite possibly the 350 too. Little bird told me.

I'll lend you my air rifle if you like so you can put an end to the 'little bird' that tells lies ?

Yes its often you find the estate version looks much nicer.If I had the money I would buy an E class estate no problem.

Amusing though. Why stick on the badges and then have to stick gaffer tape over them? Why not just leave the badges off in the first place and apply them later?

Very nice, im looking for a BMW M5 touring but this is tempting me back, i really like the way it sits (the stance) and the beefy arches. Nice... Fins on the front bumper need to be changed make it look like a Vectra
