so its not bad in 63 guise.. but still to me just looks seriously unfinished

hmmm

some one once wrote on the forum, about the 212.. that you cant polish a turd..

now whilst i cant fully agree with this, the mods to the facelift have truly turned the 212 into a bit of a turd compred to what was quite a nice style previousy... IMO anyway

rear lights in these pics illuminate wrong..

Yes, a metallic grey might be better - or even the standard issue black.

I have mixed feelings on it - I do agree it does look unfinished.

As my old school reports used to say "could/must do better".

The pre-facelift E63 was too plain, this looks great IMO

Sliver one looks good in the last photo aswell :D

Too Plain for an AMG:

I prefer the new face lift. When people say "unfinished" what would you finish it with?

I love it, looks really good, but I think it should be a little more aggressive on the front.

Huge improvement over the old car which unless was white with carbon bits looked dull.

really not sure about that protruding grille at the front.

I’m hoping they bring back the intuitive type of designer rather than the ones who have to learn how to design & shape a car...

Far too shouty for me. If you want to shout you buy a coupe, if you want a discrete 4 door fast car - this is no longer it!

Just noticed - what's going on with the parking sensors on the front corners? Normally they follow an imaginary line along the bumper in an effort to "design" them in to the bumper, the ones on the corners on that E63 are as if they're just an after thought and slapped anywhere.

Seems to be a facelift that's actually meant to look like it's been facelifted even if you didn't know what it used to look like. They've smoothed out the edges back and front and then just left the angles as they were in the middle, no flow to it.

The lower front bumper also looks like those third party ones that all have the same styling regardless of the car they're going on.

At least it hasn't got that lumpy rear arch treatment they seem so fond of at the moment.

And does that front bumper remind anyone else of this fella?

That's exactly what I was going to say.

Wallace.. Gromitt, which ever the hell it is.
Quite like it though, in 63 form.
