W213 - six months on... mixed feelings

One of the joys of driving in France is the Michelin atlas.
Satnav is superfluous.
Long ago, when I ran a sophisticated Saab 900, I found that it did most of what I needed.
(It did not have A/C.)
I have not since found anything new that I actually need* in the cockpit of any more modern car, indeed most cockpits these days are labour making devices.

*apart, perhaps from an Aux input to the radio.

Sat Nav navigation, repeat navigation instruction. On my W212 press one button. On W213 3 buttons required ? Anyone any better answers

COMAND on your 212 and just standard Sat Nav on your 213? :dk:

Just a thought?

If you really want to see how many miles you have left after the dashboard displays stop showing it, the Mercedes Me app always shows the remaining range on my W213 (iPhone version does anyway). Not much use if you are on your own, but if you really want to know, the passenger can look for you.

So many minor, and some bigger, niggles with the W213. How do we feed them back to MB, and if we did will they be taken seriously?

Does anyone from MB read these forums?

my W212 does the same thing. Stops displaying range on low fuel warning. Its really annoying. Some numpty at Mercedes designed it to do that. Wonder if its due to some HSE perceived risk of a lawsuit if a car runs out while still displaying x miles available.

Does it? I’ve never even seen the fill up light on mine. Granted I don’t let it below a quarter, but still. Keep it toped up and don’t worry about the minor things.

Really impressed with how much more refined the new model is. High beam adjust doesn't seem to work like it did on 212. And the dog cage doesn't fit. Boot seems quite a bit smaller. Speakers seem light on bass. Wife prefers the way it looks.
High beam auto-dip only real fault. Anyone else have this?
Cheers
Ash

I guess it depends which lights you have / had on your 213/212 but on my 213 the auto adjust for the high beam is far far better on my 213 vs the 212.

Boot seems to be the same size to me?

I had a 2011 avantgarde and the cornering lighting and high beam assist were excellent. W213 is se cooking version plus command, privacy glass and iridium paint. The lights seem fine but blind on-coming drivers, not dipping as they did in 212. Might be a warranty job.

Ps boot size meant I had to do quite a bit of surgery on dog crate (not the dog). The 212 bit is taller inside in rear third. Also a bit longer. Most people won't notice

I had a 2012 350cdi with the cornering and auto dipping. Both were OK but a bit slow. The 213 has the “all singing, all dancing” LED lights which block out the light to on coming drivers. Amazing tech. I’ve not driven the standard lights though.

Don't you need Premium Plus Package to get auto dipping on the w213?

You're spoilt, you lot. Moving the dip switch from foot operation to a steering column stalk, now that was progress...
