W215 ABC Pump change ...

OK I got a quote back from MB,

1hr Diagnosis : £115 incl VAT
Pump and labour, extra parts £1330.48 from £1584.87 incl VAT
B Service without spark plugs and without charcoal filter : from £600ish to £453.86 incl VAT.

Grand total comes to £1,928.20

My local MB dealer does labour at £45 per hour for cars older than 6 years with a 1% discount on parts. Would reduce those quotes somewhat. I always compare them and my local independents before having anything major like this done.

Hello Roger, long time no speak :thumb:

Can you PM me the local dealer number please?

Tony Purslow Guilford 40% of Labour + 10% off parts, i take the C43 there for servicing and to Olly for major things.

Also if you go the MBWorld.org Mercedes Benz Enthusiast Community forum and scroll down to the W215/W216 section and do a search for ABC Pump, there is a great How to with photo's from a member called Oxygen.

That will give some idea what is involved in replacing the pump. Hope this helps.

I have a new pump in my stock cupboard. Emailme with your chassis number and I will see if it is compatible,.

You must ask yourself why do they keep going wrong? Do you have a leak?
