W219 No DVD in boot - Nav issue

Hi all

My antenna has been faulty for a while now ...but I always could see the maps onscreen just with no antenna/satellites

Recently I'm getting a NO DVD in boot message when I press Map or Nav button

If I switch car off and press Nav,, intermittently I get the navigation activation message with the spinning wheel...after about 3 mins it returns to No DVD disc on boot message again

I've tried a cleaned in the tear DVD drive with no results

Disk is either a copy/fake or scratched, or the laser in the nav drive is failing. The latter can happen from age, and from using a fake disk.

Its def a genuine disc @richard - though from 2007

Just an update to this thread, it was the Nav Unit itself that was faulty. I replaced it and we have working Nav again now that I have also replaced the antenna with an after market one
