Petrol Gauge suddenly started to read zero, not working I am running on LPG need Petrol just to start up, but last night noticed the Petrol Gauge had completely stopped working just reads zero doesn't move a millimetre yet a quarter of a tank of Petrol is in the Tank, is this a know problem with the W220

This is a problem that can happen to any car. The sender could fail, or there could be an open circuit somewhere along the cable, or the gauge could fail.

Also worth checking out is if the circuit is protected by a fuse (most likely) and whether it is still intact.

Sometimes the best solution is the simplest.

(reminds me of someone who discovered his offside light wasn't working, so replaced the switch only to realise after all that hassle that his lamp had failed, and simply needed a new halogen lamp (bulb).)
